I am a very nostalgic person by nature and Christmastime, more than any other time of the year, stirs this sensation inside me strongly. Fond memories are something that I love and cherish and like to remind myself of whenever I can - in times of need or in times of great joy. At Christmas I like to take time to look back on my year and reminisce and reflect on the good and the bad. A moment in which to draw strength from any small triumphs, but also to remember the lessons life has taught me.
For me, as for everyone else, Christmas is a time when I like to think of others. Those who are less fortunate, those who are experiencing great trials, tribulations, hardships and sadness. This year has been a heavy one for us all and so I wanted to share with you, and remind you, that you are not alone.
This year has made me look at Christmas very differently. Sure, it will still be a time that I spend with my loved ones, eating, drinking and being merry, gifting one another from the heart. But it is also going to be a time to remember those experiencing loneliness or loss.
If you are feeling lonely or sad over this festive period, please know that you can contact me and say ‘hello’. My DMs are open and I always reply to anyone who has taken the time out of their day to message me.
One of my great joys in 2021 has been to encounter, and become friendly with, so many wonderful people on Instagram. I have tremendously enjoyed getting to know so many kind, interesting and lovely people. People with such incredible warmth, knowledge, enthusiasm and encouragement. So many who have spread joy and happiness and I am grateful to each and every one. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
